Metallothionein mRNA expression in fetal mouse organs☆
[摘要] Theregulationofmetallothioneinbiosynthesisinmammaliandevelopmentwasinvestigatedbyexaminingorgansof17-dayfetalmiceforbiologicallyactivemetallothioneinmRNA.Metallothioneinwasidentifiedincell-freetranslationproductsbymigrationinpolyacrylamidegelsanditscharacteristicelutiononSephadexG-50columns.Metallothioneinconstitutes∼7.5%of[35S]cysteineincorporatedintopolypeptidesdirectedbymRNAfromfetalliver,butitisnotdetectableinmRNA-directedproductsoffetalkidney,smallbowel,heart,oradultliver.Consistentwithafetal-specificrole,hepaticmetallothioneinmRNAcontentdecreasesabruptlyinnewbornmice,becomingundetectablewithin12days.
