Formation of pigment cell patterns in Triturus alpestris embryos
[摘要] ThedistributionofmelanophoresandxanthoporesindevelopingtailbudstagesofTriturusalpestriswasinvestigated.Instage27embryos(curvedtailbuds),melanophoresaredistributedevenlybutsparselyovertheentiredorsolateraltrunk.Withprogressivedevelopmentmelanophoresarrangethemselvesintocompactdorsalandlateralbandspresentinstage34embryos(9to10-mm-longlarvae).Ontheinnersurfaceofdetachedpiecesofskinfromearlytailbudswhichwereinvestigatedinthescanningelectronmicroscopexanthophoreswerediscoveredinadditiontoandmixedwithmelanophores.Unlikemelanophorestheyareinvisiblefromoutside.Laterindevelopmenttheyoccupythezonebetweenthemelanophorebandsandalsothedorsalfin.Thus,formationofpigmentcellpatternsinTriturusembryosisaprocesswhichseemstodependonthedifferentialsortingoutoftwopopulationsofneuralcrest-derivedchromatophorecelltypes.
