Dissociated limb bud cells of chick embryos can express lens specificity when reaggregated and cultured in vitro☆

[摘要] Limbbudcellsofchickembryos(stages23–24)weredissociatedintosinglecells,reaggregated,andculturedinvitroforaboutaweek.δ-Crystallin,generallythoughttobealens-specificproteininthechick,wasdetectedintheaggregatesbyindirectimmunofluorescentstaining,doubleimmunodiffusiontest,andimmunoelectrophoresiswithspecificantiserumagainstδ-crystallin.Cellscontainingδ-crystallinweredistributedinepidermalcellclustersandalsoinmesenchymaltissuessurroundingcartilagenodulesintheaggregates.Thosecellsinmesenchymaltissueswereshowntohaveoriginatedfromthemesodermofthelimbbud,andthoseinepidermalcellclustersprobablyoriginatedfromtheectoderm.Thepossiblecellularoriginofthisappearanceofδ-crystallinwasdiscussed.
