Guidance of pioneer growth cones: Filopodial contacts and coupling revealed with an antibody to Lucifer Yellow☆

[摘要] Weareinterestedinthefactorsthatguideindividualneuronalgrowthconesduringembryonicdevelopment.WehavedevelopedanantibodytothefluorescentdyeLuciferYellow.Weusetheantibodyheretoexaminethespecificfilopodialcontactsanddyecouplingbythefirstgrowthconesinthegrasshopperembryothatnavigateinanaxonlessenvironment.Wehavestudiedthedistributionandapparentselectiveadhesionofthefilopodiafromthesepioneeringgrowthconesinthecentralnervoussystemandperiphery.Ourresultssuggestthatselectivefilopodialadhesiontospecific“landmark”cellsmayplayanimportantroleintheguidanceofpioneergrowthcones.
