Cell-cycle characteristics of undifferentiated and differentiating embryonal carcinoma cells☆

[摘要] Thecell-cycleparametersofundifferentiatedanddifferentiatingembryonalcarcinomacellsweredetermined.UndifferentiatedculturesofanF9subclone,OTF9-63,hada12-hrgenerationtime,10-hrS,and2-hrG2+M.G1waslessthan0.5hr.Incontrast,OTF9-63cellsinducedtodifferentiatebytreatmentwithretinoicacidhada16.8-hrgenerationtime,12.5-hrS,2-hrG2+M,and2.3-hrG1.Similarresultswereobtainedwithundifferentiatedculturesandaggregation-induceddifferentiatingculturesofPSA-1cells.ThesedatademonstratethattheundifferentiatedstemcellshavelittleornoG1,andthatbothG1andSlengthenduringdifferentiation.
