[摘要] Atechniquehasbeendevelopedfororgan-culturingratcorneaswithastandardepithelialwoundandthenharvestingepitheliummigratingoverthewound.Usingthistechnique,wefoundthatcornealepitheliummigratinginorgancultureincorporatesleucineandglucosamineinamounts45.5and11.9times,respectively,greaterthanthatinnormalepithelium.Epitheliumperipheraltotheepitheliummigratingoverthewoundareaalsohasincreasedlevelsofincorporation.Atwoundclosure,ratesofleucineandglucosamineincorporationdecreasedto13.7and4.6times,respectively,thatofnormal,indicatingthatascellsmakecontact,thereisadramaticreductioninsynthesisofproteinandglycoprotein.
