Sea urchin hyalin: Appearance and function in development
[摘要] Hyalin,theextracellularmatrixproteinofseaurchinembryos,wasexaminedbyimmunofluorescence.Priortofertilizationhyalinwasconfinedtocorticalgranules.Atfertilizationhyalinwasreleasedfromsomeofthecorticalgranulesaspartofthevisiblefertilizationwave.Furtherhyalinaccumulationonthecellsurfaceoccurredinthesucceeding2–3minasadditionalcorticalgranuleswerereleased.Thehyalinfusedtoformacontinuousextraembryoniclayer.Regenerationstudiesshowedthatnewaccumulationsofhyalinwereinitiatedbyectodermcellsatearlygastrulation.Regenerationdidnotoccurpriortothisdevelopmentaltime,norwastherenewhyalinaccumulationonmesodermorendodermcells.Hyalinaccumulatedonlyontheapicalsurfaceofectodermcells.Inbindingstudies,cellsofallthreegermlayershadanaffinityforhyalinpriortogastrulation.Theaffinitywasretainedbyectodermandendodermbutwaslostbyprimarymesenchymecellsatthebeginningofgastrulation.Thelossinaffinitywasspecificforhyalinandoccurredatthetimewhenprimarymesenchymecellsnormallyleavetheblastodermtoinvadetheblastocoel.
