Endocardial cell polarity during the looping of the heart in the chick embryo
[摘要] Inordertoinvestigatewhetherendocardialcells(EC)inchickembryoheartshavepolarityofshapeandstructure,thepositionoftheGolgiapparatus,silverimpregnated,andtheshapeofthecellswerestudiedusinglightandTEMandSEMmicroscopy.TheEChaveaprominentGolgiapparatuslocatedlateraltothenucleusandshowastatisticallysignificantpolarization.Thepatternofendocardialcellpolaritywasmainlyobservedinthebulbuscordisandintheprimitiveatriumfromstage11+andintheprimitiveventricleatstages9+and10+.TheECareelongatedinshape,showthemorphologicalcharacteristicsofmigratingcells,andarearrangedwiththelongaxisperpendiculartothebloodflow.Itissuggestedthatthepolarityofendocardialcellsisassociatedwithcellemigration.ThepossiblemorphogeneticroleofECpolarityisdiscussed.
