[摘要] ExtractsoflargeoocytesofXenopuslaeviscontainhighlevelsofonemajorDNApolymeraseactivity.Aftermaturationintoeggs,theoveralllevelofDNApolymeraseactivityinextractsincreasesfourfoldandasecondmajoractivityappearsonSephadexG-200orDEAEcellulosecolumns.AlthoughintenseDNAsynthesisoccursasthenumberofcellsincreasefromonetoover100,000,nofurtherincreasesinthelevelofeitherDNApolymeraseactivityareobservedincleavage,gastrulaorearlyneurulastageembryos.Inextractsoflateneurulaeorhatchedembryos,however,athirdmajorDNApolymeraseactivityappearscoincidentwithanincreaseintheabilityoftheextractstoutilisenativeDNAtemplatesinvitro.
