The mechanism of evagination of imaginal discs of Drosophila melanogaster: I. General considerations☆
[摘要] Morphologicalandultrastructuralobservationsofevaginatingdiscsarepresentedalongwithstudiesofthebiochemicalandcellulareffectsofinhibitorsofevagination,particularlycytochalasinB(CB).Theultrastructureoftheevaginatingdiscisdescribedwithspecialreferencetoelementswhichmightbeimportantinevagination,specificallymicrofilamentsandmicrotubules.ThereiscircumstantialevidencethatCBsensitivemicrofilamentsdistributedalongthebasalcellsurfacemayplayaroleinevagination.NoeffectsofCBwerefoundonβ-ecdysone-stimulatedsyntheticactivities.Amodelfortheevaginationofappendagesfromimaginaldiscswhichrequiresbothcellflatteningandcellrearrangementispresented.Someimplicationsofthemodelformosaicandcelllineagestudiesarediscussed.
