Energy metabolism in developing Ascaris lumbricoides eggs: I. The glycolytic enzymes☆
[摘要] ThechangesintheactivitiesoftheglycolyticenzymeswerefollowedduringthedevelopmentofAscarislumbricoideseggs.Themaximumcatalyticcapacitiesofthemajorcatabolicpathwayswereestimatedfromthemaximumactivitiesofthenonequilibriumenzymes,andtheresultsarecomparedwiththechangesinmetabolicrateandthechangesincarbohydrateandlipidutilizationwhichoccurduringdevelopment.Althoughtheonsetofcarbohydrateandlipidutilizationwasaccompaniedbyanincreaseinthecatalyticcapacitiesofthecorrespondingpathways,therewasnodropinthecatalyticcapacitiesofthepathwayswhentheeggsbecamedormant,norwasthereanychangewhenthedormanteggwasactivited.
