Inhibition of DNA synthesis in embryonic mouse retina as a result of gene interaction
[摘要] Ithasbeenshownbyautoradiographyusing3H-thymidinethat11-daymouseembryosdoublyhomozygousfortheautosomalrecessivegenesfidget(genesymbolfi)andocularretardation(or),havethreetofivetimesfewerlabellednucleiintheirretinaanlagesasdonormal(genotype+/++/+)embryossinglyhomozygousforfidget(+/+fifi)orocularretardation(+/+oror).In11-dayembryosof+/++/+,+/+fifiand+/+ororgenotypesthelabellednucleiarelocalizedmainlyintheinnerzoneoftheretinaanlage.However,indoublehomozygotestheindicesoflabellednucleiwerenotsignificantlydifferentintheinnerandouterzonesoftheretinaanlage.Theretinaanlageof12-daydoublehomozygote,fifioror,haspracticallynonucleisynthesizingDNA.Consequently,themutantgenesfiandorwhichprolongtheG1periodofthecellcycleinsinglehomozygotes,actsynergeticallytostopDNAsynthesisintheretinaanlagecellsof12-dayfifiororembryos.
