Regeneration and duplication in a temperature sensitive homeotic mutant of Drosophila melanogaster☆
[摘要] Eye-antennaldiscsofthetemperaturesensitivehomeoticmutantaristapedia(ssa40a)inDrosophilamelanogasterwereisolatedafterthetemperaturesensitiveperiod(TSP).Afterinvivoculturetheeyedisccanregenerateanewantennaldisc,whereastheantennaldiscduplicatesaftersuchacultureperiod.Ithasbeenfoundthatthephenotypeoftheregeneratedantenna(aristapediaorwild-type)dependsentirelyonthetemperatureduringwhichregenerationisaccomplishedandisthereforeindependentoftheoriginaltemperaturesensitiveperiod.Asimilarobservationismadeafterduplicationoftheantennaldisc.Intheseexperimentstheneworduplicatedantennaexpressesaphenotypedependentonthetemperatureoftheinvivoculture.Weconcludethatregeneratingandduplicatingfragmentspassasecondtemperaturesensitiveperiod.
