[摘要] AllaminoacidsandseveralnucleicacidprecursorsaretakenupbyXenopuslaevisembryos.Theembryosarecompletelyintactandnotmodifiedinanyway.TheseprecursorsaredirectlyincorporatedintothemacromoleculesofXenopusembryosandnotprokaryoticcontaminantsashasbeenpreviouslyclaimed.RadioactiveleucineisincorporatedintoXenopuslaevisribosomalproteinsascharacterizedbysucrosegradientcentrifugation.Theuptakeoftheaminoacidsiscycloheximidesensitiveandunaffectedbychloramphenicol.RadioactiveadenosineandoroticacidaretakenupandincorporatedintotRNAandrRNAathighlevelsascharacterizedbysucrosegradientsandelectrophoresis.ThesecharacterizationsoflabeledmacromoleculesunequivocallyshowthatnormalXenopuslaevisembryoswilltakeupandincorporatelabeledprecursorstolevelswhicharesufficienttostudycellularbiochemicaleventsatsuchearlystagesofdevelopment.
