Inhibitor of ribosomal RNA synthesis in Xenopus laevis embryos: V. Inability of inhibitor to repress 5S RNA synthesis☆
[摘要] AspecificinhibitorofribosomalRNA(rRNA)synthesiswaspartiallypurifiedfromanacid-solublefractionofXenopuslaevisblastulae.Effectsofthisinhibitoron5SrRNAsynthesisofisolatedneurulacellsofthesamespecieswereinvestigated.Theresultsshowthatthesynthesisofboth5SrRNAand4SRNAproceedsnormallywhenboth18and28SrRNAarealmostcompletelyinhibited.Failureoftheinhibitortosuppress5SrRNAsynthesissuggeststhatitplaysanimportantroleintheregulationof18and28SrRNAsynthesisduringdevelopmentandthatthesynthesisof5SrRNAisnotcoordinatedtothatof18and28SrRNA.
