Insulin binding to cells of several tissues of the early chick embryo☆

[摘要] ThebindingofI125-labeledinsulintoisolatedcellsfromseveraltissuesofthe3-and4-daychickembryowasdeterminedoveraconcentrationrangeofinsulinfrom2×10−11to2×10−7M.Thecellswereobtainedfromlimbbudandnonlimbbudtissuesofthe4-daychick,fromtheheadless3-daychickembryo,andfromcartilageofthe12-dayembryo.Theamountofboundinsulinwasfoundtobesimilarforthecellsfromthedifferentembryonictissues.Someimplicationsofthesefindingsfortheinterpretationofthenatureofthebindingsitesandtheteratogeniceffectofinsulinarediscussed.
