Biochemical research on oogenesis. RNA accumulation in the oocytes of teleosts☆☆☆
[摘要] RNAaccumulationwasstudiedintheoocytesofninespeciesofteleosts,belongingtoninedifferentfamilies.ImmatureovariesofallanimalsexaminedcontainedhighamountsoftransferRNAand5SRNA.InfourspeciestransferRNAand5SRNAmadeupmorethan90%oftheRNAcontentoftheovaries.Inthreeofthesespeciesthe28+18SRNAcontentwassolowthatitcouldnotbemeasured.Inprevitellogenicoocytesoftheteleosts,asinthoseofXenopuslaevis,transferRNAand5SRNAarestoredinnucleoproteinparticlessedimentingat42S.Aminoacyl-tRNAsynthetaseactivityisassociatedwiththeseparticles.ThemolarratiooftransferRNAto5SRNAishigherinthe42SparticlesoftheteleoststhaninthoseofXenopuslaevis.Somatic5SRNAfromthefresh-waterfishTincavulgariswaselutedfromcolumnsofmethylatedalbumin-Kieselguhraheadofoocyte5SRNA.AsimilardifferencewaspreviouslyreportedinXenopuslaevisandshowntobeduetonucleotidesubstitutionsinthetwotypesof5SRNA's.Itwasconcludedthatmostofthe5SgenesthatareactiveintheoocytesofXenopuslaevisarerepressedinsomaticcells.ThisconclusionmightalsobevalidforthefishTincavulgaris.
