Vital dye mapping of the gastrula and neurula of Xenopus laevis: I. Prospective areas and morphogenetic movements of the superficial layer☆☆☆
[摘要] Thedispositionofprospectiveareasandthecourseofmorphogeneticmovementsduringgastrulationandneurulationwereinvestigatedbyvitalstaining.Theprospectiveliningofthearchenteron,theprospectiveneuralarea,andtheprospectiveepidermalareaarerepresentedonthesurfaceoftheearlygastrula.Theprospectiveliningofthearchenteronoccupiestheareawithin65–70°ofthevegetalpoleandisdividedintoprospectivearchenteronroofandprospectivearchenteronfloorbytheblastoporepigmentlinewhichfunctionsasthelocusofinvagination.Acrescent-shapedneuralarealiesimmediatelyabovetheprospectivearchenteronroof,risingfromitat125°lateraltothedorsalmidlinetoapoint130°abovethevegetalpoleinthedorsalmidline.Intheearlygastrula,most,ifnotall,mesodermisdeeptothesurfacelayerandismappedbytheinsertionofdyedagarspikes.Resultsthusfarindicatethattheprospectivenotochordliesinthedorsaldeepmarginalzone,followedlaterallybythemedialregionofthesomites,thelateralregionofthesomites,andthelateralplate.ThemorphogeneticsignificanceofthecomparativedispositionoftheanlageninXenopusisdiscussed.
