Experimental in vitro organogenesis and its modification by antibody directed to a cell surface antigen☆☆☆
[摘要] Thehypothesisthatcell-surfacedirectedantibodymayinterferewithorganogenesiswasinvestigatedbymeansofanexperimentalsystemwhereinhistotypicinvitroreconstructionofchickembryomesonephroswasmodifiedbyanheterologousForssmanantibody.TheForssmanantigenisexpressedatthesurfacesofepithelialcellsoftheductandcollectingtubulesincontrasttoitsabsencefromtherestofthenephron.IncubationofsuspensionofdissociatedsinglecellsfrommesonephroiallowsorganotypicreconstructionofbothF+andF−elementswhennormalserumisaddedtotheculture,whileanti-FserainhibitthereconstructionofF+structures.Itisproposedthattheseexperimentsreflectasetofcircumstancesthatmayoccurinviviparousanimalswheretransplacentalantibodiesarecapableofharmingtheearlyembryo.
