Differentiation in the cocoonase producing silkmoth galea: Ultrastructural studies☆
[摘要] Thedifferentiationofthecocoonasezymogen-producingcellgroups(organules)isdescribedattheultrastructurallevel.Twotypesofzymogencellsariseearlyindevelopment.Onecellofeachtypeassociatesspecificallywiththeotherandwithasingleductcelltoformanorganule.Eachorganuleelaboratesacomplexcuticularductapparatus,inamorphogeneticprocessthatinvolvesspecificattachmentsandmovementsoftheapicalcellregions,formationofapseudoflagellarscaffolding,secretionofcuticularmaterial,andextracellularreorganizationofthismaterial.Halfwaythroughdevelopment,thezymogencellsretractfromtheductapparatus,andthresultingextracellularspace(storagevacuole)expandsasitfillswithcocoonasezymogen.Theultrastructureofthezymogencellsisdiscussedintermsoftheirgrowthandsequentialsecretoryactivities.Comparisonismadewithotherinsectorganules.
