Adhesive recognition between developing retinal cells and the optic tecta of the chick embryo☆☆☆
[摘要] Anassayisdescribedthatcanmeasuretheratesofadhesionofisotopicallylabeledcellbodiesfromeitherthedorsalorventralregionsofthechickembryoretinatodorsalandventraltectalhalves.Immediatelyafterdissociationoftheretina,bothventralanddorsalretinalcellsadherepreferentiallytoventraltectalhalves.Withincreasingtimeafterdissociation,however,thepreferenceoftheventralretinalcellsshiftstodorsaltectalhalves.Thedorsalretinalcellscontinuetoshowaspecificityforventraltectalhalvesregardlessofthelengthoftimeaftertheirdissociation.Whenthedevelopmentalageofthetectalhalvesisvariedfrom8–14days,thereisnochangeinthespecificitiesshownbyretinalcellstowardthesetecta.Whenretinalageisvaried,ventralretinalcellsdonotadherepreferentiallytodorsaltectauntilday6andolder.Dorsalretinasshowtheirspecificitytowardventraltectaasearlyasdaythree.Controlexperimentsincludetheuseofnonretinaltissues,noninnervatedtectalhalvesandpigmentedretinalcells.
