Formation of one-dimensional patterns by stochastic processes and by filamentous blue-green algae☆
[摘要] Thedistributionofdistancesbetweencentersinapatternarisingonaline,basedontheJohnson-Mehlandassociatedmodels,isinvestigatedanalyticallyandbycomputersimulation.Thedistributionofspacingsbetweenheterocystsarisinginafilamentinitiallyfreeofheterocystswasfoundtodifferfromthedistributionexpectedifcellsdifferentiatingintoheterocystsinhibitnearbycellsfromsodifferentiatingbymeansofanundampeddominoeffect,andtoapproximatethedistributionexpectedifinhibitionisbyadiffusionphenomenon.Thedatapresentedsupportthepremisethattheinhibition,byheterocysts,ofheterocystformationismediatedbyadiffusiblesubstanceproducedbyheterocysts.Theinhibitioncanbeimpairedbyrifampicin.
