Behavior of gynandromorphs of the wasp Habrobracon juglandis
[摘要] Astudywasmadeofsexbehaviorfor276gynandromorphsofthewaspHabrobraconjuglandis.Ingeneral,gynandromorphswithmaleheadsbehavedlikemales,thosewithfemaleheadsbehavedlikefemales,andthosewithmosaicheadsaseithermaleorfemaleorboth.TheseobservationscorroboratethosemadebyP.W.Whitingin1932andconfirmhisviewthatthesiteofsexbehaviorisinthebrain.Correlationsbetweensexbehaviorandthesexofvariousbodystructuresshowedclearlythatsexbehaviorisunrelatedtothethorax,abdomenandgenitalia.Thesexbehaviorofgynandromorphsdoesnotseemtoberelatedtothesexoftheexternalsensorsoftheheadbutrathertothegenotypeofthebrain.
