Modulations of histone messenger RNA during the early development of Xenopus laevis☆
[摘要] TheamountoftranslatablehistonemRNAinXenopusoocytes,eggs,andembryoswasfoundtoberoughlysimilar,asjudgedbyacell-freetranslationassay.Thisobservationprovidesfurtherevidencethatposttranscriptionalcontrolmechanismsbringaboutthe50-foldincreaseintherateofhistonesynthesisduringoocytematuration.Aboutthree-quartersoftheoocytehistonemRNAwasfoundtobepolyadenylated.However,polyadenylatedhistonemRNAwasscarcelydetectableintheeggandembryo.Ourdataareconsistentwiththespeculationpresentedherethatthedisappearanceofthepoly(A)+histonemRNAcomponentatthetimeofconversionofoocytetoegg(maturation)isduetodeadenylation.
