The premature deposition or lysis of glycogen in livers of fetal rats injected with hydrocortisone or glucagon☆
[摘要] Glycogendepositioninfetalratliverwasproducedprematurelyandinincreasedamountsbytheadministrationofhydrocortisonetointactfetusesinutero.Extensiveglycogenolysis,likethatnormallyoccurringinneonatallivers,wasbroughtaboutprenatallybytheadministrationofglucagonordibutyrylcyclicAMPtofetalrats1–2daysbeforeterm.Theconcomitantriseinthelevelofglucose-6-phosphatasewasnotcausallyrelatedtothisprocesssinceactinomycinDpreventedtheriseinthelevelofthisenzymewithoutpreventingglycogenolysis.Largedosesofglucagon(ordibutyrylcyclicAMP)injectedtopregnantratsdidnotcauseglycogendepletioninthefetalliversindicatingthatthishormoneisnottransmittedtothefetalcirculation.Theresultssuggestthatglucocorticoidssecretedbythefetalratinitiatetheprenataldepositionofliverglycogenandthatglucagon,secretedduringtheneonatalstateofhypoglycemia,causesglycogenolysisinthenewborn.
