Fine structural changes in liver cells of Rana catesbeiana during natural metamorphosis☆
[摘要] DuringnaturalmetamorphosisofRanacatesbeianatherearesignificantcytologicalalterationsinthelivercells.Thesechangesprovidecytologicalcriteriafordifferentiationofparenchymalcellsduringmetamorphosis.Thenucleioftheparenchymalcellsareeuchromaticinearlymetamorphicstagesandbecomeheterochromaticaboutthetimeofforelimbdevelopmentandremainso.Theybecomemoreirregularinshape,andthenumberofnucleoliincreases.Themitochondriaincreaseinsize,andtheircristaechangefromabroadlamellartoasmaller,moretubularappearanceduringtheperiodfromhindlimbdevelopmentthroughmetamorphicclimax.Theroughendoplasmicreticulumproliferatesthroughthecytoplasmandthecisternaebecomedilatedduringthisperiod.TheGolgicomplexisassociatedwithdensegranulesduringearlystagesofmetamorphosis,appearslessactiveduringmetamorphicclimax,andreturnstoamoreactiveappearanceinfrogletandadultanimals.Thesechangesareinterpretedinrelationtothebiochemicalalterationsthatoccurduringmetamorphosis.
