Temperature-sensitive mutations in Drosophila melanogaster,: VI. Temperature effects on development of sex-linked recessive lethals☆☆☆
[摘要] Thedevelopmentaleffectsoffourtemperature-sensitivelethalmutationsontheXchromosomeofDrosophilamelanogasterwereanalyzed.Byshiftingculturesfrom29°C(restrictivetemperature)to22°C(permissive)andviceversaatdifferentstages,thetemperature-sensitiveperiod(TSP)ofeachmutationwasdefined:(1)l(1)E34tswasapupallethalwithamonophasicTSPinitiatedatthetimeofpupation;(2)l(1)E7tswasalatepupalandearlyadultlethalwithaTSPduringthepupalperiodinmales,whereasfemaleshadaprolongedTSPorsuccessionofTSPsextendingfromtheembryonicthroughthelarvalstages;(3)l(1)E25tswaspolyphasicwithasuccessionofTSPsintheembryo,intheperiodbetweenfirstandsecondlarvalinstarsandinadultfemales;(4)l(1)E12tswassensitiveto29°Catallstagesofdevelopment.Thepotentiallimitationsandutilityoftsmutationsintheanalysisofdevelopmentwerediscussed.
