[摘要] SerialstudiesofDNApolymeraseactivityweremadeinthebraintissueofnormalratsfrom−6to44daysofage.Peaklevelsofenzymeactivityoccurredat6to10daysandmuchlowerlevelswerenotedafter20daysofage.ThispatternofenzymeactivitycorrelateswiththerateofnetDNAsynthesis,whichshowsadoublingoftotalDNAcontentbetween6and10daysandcessationofDNAsynthesisat20daysofage.ThiscorrelationexistswhetherthereferenceunitisDNAorsupernatantprotein,andwhethernativeordenaturedprimerisused.However,asinmostinvitromammalianstudies,enzymeactivityishigherwithdenaturedDNAprimerthanwithnativeprimerthroughouttheperiodofthisstudy.
