Induction of embryolike structures by kinetin in cultured barley embryos☆
[摘要] Excised,immaturebarleyembryos(0.5mmlong)culturedonamediumcontaining0.1mg/lkinetinfrequentlydevelopedembryolikeoutgrowthsconsistingofroot-shootaxesand,insomecases,acoleoptilelikefirstleaf.Theseembryoidsappearedinvariablyonthesideoftheembryooppositethescutellum,theregionoccupiedbytheepiblastinmanygrasses.Becauseoftheirorigininthefirstnoderatherthanthecoleorhiza,theyarenotinterpretedasrepresentinghypertrophiedepiblasts.
