Actin accumulation in developing chick brain and other tissues☆
[摘要] Cytoplasmicactinisolatedfromchickbraintissuewasidentifiedbyelectronmicroscopy,myosin-bindingability,SDSandureagelanalysis,andtrypticpeptidemapping.TissueactinlevelsweremeasuredfromSDS-polyacrylamidegelsofbrain,heart,lens,liver,andskintissuehomogenatesfrom5-to20-daychickembryosandfrom17-week-oldadults.Actinlevelswerehighestin11-to13-dayembryobrains.Thistimespaniscoincidentwiththemostactiveperiodofneurondifferentiationandaxonalgrowthconeactivity.Actinlevelsweregenerallyhigherinnonmuscletissuesoftheembryothanoftheadult,supportingtheconceptthatactinisinvolvedincellmotilityduringtissuemorphogenesis.However,lowlevelsofactinmaintainedinsomeadultnonmuscletissues(brain,liver,andskin)suggestaroleforcytoplasmicactininphysiologicalfunctionsotherthancellmotility.
