The possible differentiation of osteogenic elements in vitro from chick limb mesodermal cells: I. Morphological evidence☆
[摘要] Inthedevelopingchicklimbbud,myogenic,fibrogenic,chondrogenic,andosteogenictissuesarederivedfromembryonicmesenchyme.Previousreportsshowthatwhenstage24limbmesenchymalcellsareculturedinvitro,chondrocytes,fibrocytes,andmyocytescanbeidentifiedonthebasisofmorphologicalandbiochemicalparameters.Thestudiesreportedhereclearlydemonstratethat,insimilarcultures,crystallinecalciumphosphatematerialisdepositedinthechondrocyticandfibrocyticmatrices.SuchcrystallinematerialisnotobservedbeforeDay10ofculturelife.SubsequenttoDay10ofculture,firstamorphous,thencrystallinecalciumphosphateisobserved.Onthebasisoflightandelectronmicroscopicanalysis,itappearsthattheinvitrocalcificationphenomenoncloselyresemblesthemorphologicalandtemporalsequenceofosteogenesisobservedinvivo.
