Increase in nuclear poly(A)-containing RNA at syncytial blastoderm in Drosophila melanogaster embryos☆
[摘要] Levelsofpoly(A)-containingRNAinembryonicnucleiofDrosophilamelanogasterwererelatedtothemorphologicaleventsofnuclearmigrationandcellformation.Poly(A)-containingRNAwasdetectedbyinsituhybridizationof[3H]poly(U)tocytologicalpreparationsofrupturedembryos.Increasedlevelsof[3H]poly(U)bindingwereobservedinnucleithathadmigratedtothecorticalcytoplasm.Ribonuclease-treatedpreparationsindicatedthatincreasedpoly(U)bindingwasRNAdependent.Polecells,whicharethefirstcellsformed,didnotshowthisincreaseinbinding.Weinterpretthesedataasevidencethattranscriptionalactivationofinformationalsequencesoccursshortlyafternucleihavemigratedtothecorticalcytoplasmandbeforecellmembranesarecompleted.Theabsenceofthisactivationinnucleiofpolecellsmayresultfromrepressoractivityinthepolarplasm.
