The chick erythrocyte membrane antigens: Characterization and variation during embryonic and postembryonic development☆
[摘要] Chickenerythrocyteplasmamembraneantigenswerestudiedbycrossedimmunoelectrophoresis.Anembryonicantigendemonstratedin12-day-oldembryosdecreasesafterhatchingandtakes90to120daystodisappear.Anadultantigenbecomesdetectable8daysafterhatchingandreachestheadultvalueattheendofthefirstmonthoflife.Inyoungchickens,inductionofanemiaproducesadecreaseofembryonicantigenlevelfollowedbyanincreaseduringtherecoveryphase.Correlatively,theadultantigenisprecociouslydetectedandmaintainsalevelhigherthancontrolsduringrecoveryphase.Whenadultsarerenderedanemic,theembryonicantigenisnotdetected;theadultantigenlevel,whichdecreasesatfirst,regainsanormalvaluewithinafewdays.
