Viral transformation of rat myoblasts: Effects on fusion and surface properties☆
[摘要] Linesofratmyoblastsinfectedbyaviansarcomaviruseshavebeenisolated,cloned,andusedtostudytheeffectsofviraltransformationonmyogenicdifferentiationandthesurfacechangesassociatedwithdifferentiation.Thelinestransformedbysarcomavirusesfailedtofuseintomyotubesanddidnotshowtheincreaseinmyosinsynthesisnormallyassociatedwithfusion.Theparentalnontransformedlineshowed,subsequenttofusion,asurfacealterationdetectablebyexternallabelingmethods.Thisalteration,anincreaseinthelevelofanexternalproteinofMW>200×103,issimilartothatobservedinfibroblastsarrestedintheG1phaseofthecellcycle.Thisproteinwasabsentorgreatlyreducedonthesurfacesofthemyoblastlinesthathadbeentransformedbysarcomaviruses.Therefore,viraltransformationcauseslossofseveralpropertiesnormallyassociatedwitharrestofmyoblastsinG1.
