Wound healing in the cornea of the chick embryo: III. The influence of pore size of millipore filters on the migration of isolated epithelial sheets in culture☆
[摘要] Themigratoryactivityofepitheliaisolatedfromthecorneaandthedorsalskinofchickembryosofdifferentageswasexaminedinvitro.FivetypesofMilliporefiltersdifferinginporesizeservedasmodelstorepresentdegreesofunevennessofthesubstrateinsteadofthenaturalwoundbedsofthecornealstromaandthedorsaldermis.Migrationoftheepitheliumwasrapidandextensivewhentheporesizewasbelow0.8μm,butwasinhibitedorstoppedwhentheporesizereachedorexceeded0.8μm.Theeffectofsurfacepropertiesofthesubstratumonthemotilityofthecellmembraneandthusonthemovementofthecellsisdiscussed.
