Role of cAMP in the release from dormancy of freshwater sponge gemmules☆
[摘要] Theroleof3′5′-cyclicAMP(cAMP)inthereleasefromdormancyofgemmulesfromthefreshwaterspongeSpongillalacustriswasinvestigated.Duringthefirst2hrofgerminationasignificantdecreaseinthegemmulecAMPcontentwasobserved.Inthepresenceofamino-phylline,atconcentrationswhichinhibitthegemmule-cAMP-phosphodiesterase,thecAMPcontentdidnotdecreaseandgerminationwasarrestedatastagepriortonuclearseparationandcelldivision.ThefindingssuggestthatinhibitionofcelldivisionbycAMPparticipatesinthecontrolofdormancy.
