The projection patterns of the ventral horn to the hind limb during development☆
[摘要] HorseradishperoxidaseisinjectedintospecifiedregionsofthehindlimbbudofXenopuslaevistadpolesatserialstagesofdevelopment.Ventralhorncellsprojectingtotheinjectionsitesbecomelabelledbytheretrogradeaxonaltransportoftheenzyme.Bymappingthelabelledcellsthedevelopingpatternofprojectionoftheventralhorntothehindlimbischarted.Theearliestpatternsofprojectionsuggestthatthefirstmotoraxonstoinvadethelimbgrowtothemesenchymenearesttotheirpointofentry.Thereafter,however,theprojectionpatternsbegintoresembletheadultpatternsandindicatethatsubsequentlyinvadingaxonsareguidedtolimbregionsrelatedtothelocationoftheircellbodiesintheventralhorn.Furtherabruptchangesoftheprojectionpatternsleadingtothefinaladultpatternsareseenatthetimeofonsetofventralhorncelldegenerationandjustpriortotheonsetoflimbmovements.
