The induction of filopodia in the cellular slime mold Dictyostelium discoideum by cyclic adenosine monophosphate: Mechanism of aggregation☆
[摘要] Dictyosteliumdiscoideumvegetativeamoebaegrownaxenicallycanbeinducedtoextendmicroprojections,filopodia,inresponsetocyclic3′,5′-adenosinemonophosphate.Cyclic3′-5′-guanosinemonophosphate,adenosinemonophosphate,oradenosinediphosphateatconcentrationsof1.0mmhavenoeffect.Afterincubationfor15min,1.0mMadenosinetriphosphatewillalsocausefilopodialformation.Treatmentwith0.1mM2–4dinitrophenolor1.0mMsodiumazidedoesnotpreventtheinductionbycyclicadenosinemonophosphate.TheinducedcellscanbemoreextensivelyagglutinatedwithConcanavalinAat0.5mg/mlthannoninducedcells.Amodelispresentedthatdescribesapossiblemechanismwherebycellsmayaggregateviathecyclicadenosinemonophosphateinducedfilopodia.
