Follicle cell protein synthesis and its contribution to the yolk of the Cecropia moth oocyte
[摘要] TheworkpresentedinthisreportdescribesthepatternofpolypetidessynthesizedbythefollicularepitheliumfromthevitellogenicCecropiamothfollicle.Theroleofthefolliclecellproductineggformationisalsodiscussed.Theexperimentalapproachinvolved:(1)incubationoflivingmaterialwithalabeledprecursor;(2)isolationofspecificpartsofthefollicle;(3)solubilizationofthesampleusingsodiumdodecylsulfateanddithioerythritol;(4)identificationofthelabeledpolypeptidesbypolyacrylamidegelelectrophoresis.Theresultsshowthatthefollicularepitheliumfromvitellogenicfollicleslabelsawidevarietyofelectrophoreticallydifferentpolypeptides.Itisalsodemonstratedthatonelabeledproductissecretedbythefollicularepithelium,takenupbytheoocytes,andthenpackagedintotheyolkspheres.
