Postnatal development of node-paranode regions in two hind limb nerves of the cat☆
[摘要] Node-paranoderegionsoflargemyelinatedaxonsfromthenervestothelateralgastrocnemiusmuscle(ankleextensor)andtheanteriortibialmuscle(ankleflexor)werestudiedinthecatduringpostnataldevelopmentandexaminedwithregardtotheoccurrenceofparanodalSchwanncellMarchi-positivebodiesandmitochondria.Itwasfound,innewbornkittenswithrespecttobothparameters,thatparanodesofflexornervefibers,beingpartofthefunctionallymoredevelopedankleflexorreflexarc[cf.Mellström,A.(1971).ActaPhysiol.Scand.,82,477–489],appearedmorematurethandidthoseofextensornervefibers,whicharepartofthelessdevelopedankleextensorreflexarc.Itisconcludedthatthematurationoflargefelinehindlimbmusclenervefibersrunsthrougha“nodalization”processsimilartothatdescribedearlierforfelinelumbarspinalrootfibers[cf.Berthold,C.-H.(1973).Neurobiology,3,339–352]andthatthisnormallyoccurring,ratherstrikingremodelingofthenode-paranoderegionsislikelytobefunctionallysignificant.
