Types of troponin components during development of chicken skeletal muscle☆

[摘要] Changesintroponincomponentsduringdevelopmentofchickenskeletalmuscleshavebeeninvestigatedbyusingelectrophoretic,immunoelectrophoretic,andimmunoelectronmicroscopicmethods.Previousreports(S.V.PerryandH.A.Cole,1974,Biochem.J.141,733–743;J.M.Wilkinson,1978,Biochem.J.169,229–238)pointedoutthatbreastandlegmusclesofadultchickencontaindifferenttypesoftroponin-T(TN-T),i.e.,breast-andleg-typeTN-T,respectively.However,thepresentpaperindicatesthattheembryonicbreastmusclecontainsleg-typeTN-T.AsdevelopmentprogressestwotypesofTN-T,i.e.,breast-andleg-typeTN-T,arefound,andfinallybreast-typeTN-TbecomestheonlyspeciesofTN-Tpresentinthebreastmuscle.Thischangeiswellcoordinatedwiththechangeoftropomyosininthebreastmuscle.Incontrast,thelegmusclecontainsleg-typeTN-Tthroughallthedevelopmentalstages.Leg-typeTN-Tispresentinmyogeniccellsinvitro,irrespectiveoftheirorigin,whetherfromthebreastorlegmuscle.Thetypesoftroponin-Iandtroponin-Cinbothbreastandlegmusclesdonotchangeduringdevelopment.ThesignificanceofthechangesinthetypesofTN-Tisdiscussedintermsofdifferentialgeneexpressionduringdevelopmentofchickenbreastandlegmuscles.
