[摘要] Regenratingfragmentsofwingimaginaldiscswereculturedinvivoforvariousperiodsupto1week.Atspecifiedtimesthefragmentswereremoved,macerated,andtheresultingcellcountswerecomparedtosimilarcountsmadeonthecontralateralintactdisc.Significantgrowthwasseenbeginningontheseconddayifthehostsweretransferredtofreshmediadaily,whileseenonlyonDay4andnotthereafterifhostsweremaintainedonthesamemediathroughoutthecultureperiod.
