Modification of the aggregation state of the multifunctional enzyme complex catalyzing the first steps in pyrimidine biosynthesis in the course of development of Drosophila melanogaster☆
[摘要] Glutamine-dependentcarbamylphosphatesynthetase,aspartatetranscarbamylase,anddihydroorotasecosedimentasahigh-molecular-weightcomplexinDrosophilaembryosandpupae.Althoughthelarvalenzymeisverylabile,weshowthatthesamehigh-molecular-weightpolypeptidecanbeisolatedbyimmunologicalmethodsfromlarvaeasalreadydescribedforculturedembryoniccells.However,thegreatersensitivityofthelarvalenzymetoproteolysiswhencomparedtotheenzymefromembryosandthebiochemicalanalysisofacold-sensitivelethalalleleofrudimentary,thestructuralgeneforthispolypeptide,stronglyindicatesthatconformationalchangesoccurwithinthecomplexinthecourseofdevelopment.
