[摘要] Theα-,β-,andγ-crystallins,proteinscharacteristicforthevertebrateeyelens,havebeenlocalizedinthedevelopinglensofNotophthalmusviridescens,theeasternspottednewt.Usingtheimmunofluorescencetechnique,antibodiestotheα-,β-,andγ-crystallinclasseswereappliedtotissuesectionsthroughtheeyeregionofdevelopingN.viridescensembryos,Harrison(external)Stages30to46+.β-Crystallinswerethefirstofthecrystallinstoappearinafewcellsofthelensvesicleevenbeforethelengtheningoftheprospectiveprimaryfibercells.γ-Crystallinswerefirstdetectableataslightlymoreadvancedstageintheprospectiveprimaryfibers,andα-crystallinsinafewcellsofthebeginningprimaryfiberarea.Theexternallayer/epitheliumwasnegativeforβ-crystallinsuntillateinlensmorphogenesis,andα-andγ-crystallinscouldnotbedetectedinthesecellsatanytime.This,thefirstuseinamphibiaofhomologousantibodiesspecificforthecrystallinclasses,makesclearthatphylogeneticdifferencesexistastotheprimacyandrelevanceofspecificcrystallinstoeventsduringmorphogenesisoftheeyelens.
