Compartmental restrictions and blastema formation during pattern regulation in Drosophila imaginal leg discs☆
[摘要] ClonalanalysiswasusedtostudytheregulativebehaviorofcellsinDrosophilaimaginallegdiscs.Suchstudiesperformedduringnormaldevelopmentoftheleghaverevealedaclonalrestrictionknownastheanterior-posteriorcompartmentboundary(E.Steiner,1976,WilhelmRouxArch.Entwicklungsmech.Organismen180,9–30).Whenwetestedaregulatingfragmentthatcontainedcellsfrombothanteriorandposteriorcompartmentsthisclonalrestrictionwasmaintainedintheoriginalfragment.However,inmaterialproducedbyregulation,clonesofcellsinducedatthetimeoffragmentationdifferentiatedanteriorandposteriorstructures.Clonalrestrictionwasobservedintheregulatedmaterialwhencloneswereinducedduringinvivoculture.Wededucedthepositionofthedividingcellsthatcontributedtoregulativegrowthfromthepositionsofthecloneswithinthedifferentiateddisctissue.Weobservedthatinitiallythemajorityofdividingcellsoriginatedfromandwerelocalizedtoanareaclosetoaregionofthewound,resemblingablastema.Asregulationproceeded,alocalizationofdividingcellswasmaintained.However,theblastemachangeditspositionfromtheoriginalmaterialintotheregulatedpart.
