Epiblast origin and early migration of neural crest cells in the chick embryo☆
[摘要] Chickembryoscarryingtransplantslabeledwithtritiatedthymidinedemonstratethattheneuralcrestoriginatesintheanteriorepiblast,atthejunctionofareasdestinedforepidermisandneuraltube.Astheneuraltubebeginstofoldandtheaxislengthens,cellsalongthisjunctionaredrawndorsomedially;attheseven-somitestagetheybegintoseparatefromtheepitheliumofthehead,andmigrateintotheanglebetweentheepidermisandtheneuraltube.Theparaxialmesodermalreadypopulatingthisangleoriginatesinmoreposteriorandmedialportionsoftheepiblastthandotheneuralcrestcells;afterinvaginationattheprimitivestreak,itmigratesanterolaterally,ventraltotheectodermlayer,untilittooisfoldeddorsomediallyintotheanglebetweentheepidermisandtheneuraltube.
