Nerve commitment in Hydra: II. Localization of commitment in S phase☆
[摘要] ThekineticsofnervedifferentiationwereinvestigatedduringheadregenerationinHydra.Inparticularthecellcycleparametersofstemcellsundergoingnervecommitmentweredetermined.Headregenerationinducesextensivenervecommitmentlocalizedattheregeneratingtip(G.VenugopalandC.David,1981,Develop.Biol.83,353–360).Theappearanceofcommittednerveprecursorsisfollowed12hrlaterbytheappearanceofnewlydifferentiatednerves.UndertheseconditionsthetimefromtheendofSphasetonervedifferentiationisabout9hrandthetimefromthebeginningofSphasetonervedifferentiationisabout18hr.Thusnervecommitmentoccursinmid-tolateSphaseofthestemcellprecursor.
