Immunohistochemical localization of the early embryonic antigen (SSEA-1) in postimplantation mouse embryos and fetal and adult tissues☆
[摘要] Distributionofthestage-specificembryonicantigen(SSEA-1)wasstudiedinpostimplantationmurineembryos,fetuses,andadultmicebyimmunohistochemicaltechniques.SSEA-1wasalsolocalizedonthestemcellsofdifferentiatingsolidteratocarcinomasandonthesurfaceofcorecellsofsolidembryoidbodies.Attheeggcylinderstagetheantigenisrestrictedtoembryonicectodermandvisceralendoderm.DuringsubsequentdevelopmentSSEA-1becomeslocalizedtoportionsofthebrainandprimordialgermcells.InadditionsomesitesoftheurogenitalanlageareSSEA-1positive.Inadultmice,theepitheliumoftheoviduct,theendometrium,andtheepididymisarethecellsmostreactivewiththemonoclonalantibodytoSSEA-1;althoughsomeareasofthebrainandkidneytubulesareweaklypositive.Studyofthisantigenicdeterminantmightdisclosesomepreviouslyunexpectedcelllineagerelationshipsand/ormightelucidateeventsnecessaryforreproduction.
