Reconstitution of branching tubules from two cloned mammary cell types in culture
[摘要] RatmammaryepithelialtumorcellsfromthelineRama25cangrowintothree-dimensional,multicellularstructureswhenculturedonfloatingcollagengels.Thesestructuresincludebranchingtubulesreminiscentofductsinglands,andtheproductionofthetubulesisstudiedhereasamodelofglandularmorphogenesis.Thecelllinecontainscellsoftwotypeswhichcanbeclonedandgrownseparately.Tubulesareformedbyneithercelltypealone,butbycombinations.Thebehaviorofthetwocelltypessuggestsamechanismforthegrowthofglands.
