Species-specific dissociation into single cells of live sea urchin embryos by fab against membrane components of Paracentrotus lividus and Arbacia lixula☆
[摘要] ThespeciesandstagespecificitiesofmembranecomponentsactiveinpromotingreaggregationofcellsdissociatedfromembryosofthetwoMediterraneanseaurchinspeciesParacentrotuslividusandArbacialixulahavebeenexamined.Membraneproteinsextractedwithbutanoleitherfrompurifiedmembranesorfromdissociatedcellswithoutsignificantreductionofviabilitypromotedreaggregationofboththehomologousandheterologousspecies.Extractsfrompluteiandblastulaewereequallyeffectiveinpromotingreaggregationofblastulacells.Bycontrast,Fab'spreparedfromIgGraisedagainsttheseextractsorpurifiedmembranesarestrictlyspeciesspecificbecausetheypreventreaggregationofcellsandactivelydissociateliveembryosofonlythehomologousspecies.NocorrespondingstagespecificityoftheFabwasobserved:Fabagainstextractsfromblastulaembryosalsocauseddissociationofplutei.AntigenicanalysisoftheextractsbytheOuchterlonytestrevealedthepresenceofcomponentsspecificforeachspeciesaswellasotherscommontoboth.
